Get to Know me and Writings Compass

My name is Ayon Kumar Dutta, and I am an academic content writer with a strong background in business, management and technical writing. Over the past few years, I have gained more than five years of experience working on a wide range of academic projects, including essays, reports, dissertations, and case study analyses.

Through this experience, I have developed a clear understanding of structured writing, critical analysis, and academic referencing styles. I focus on presenting ideas in a logical, well-organised, and easy-to-understand manner, ensuring that each piece of writing meets academic standards.

I hold a degree in Computer Science and have also completed formal training in web design and development, which has strengthened my ability to research, analyse, and communicate complex information effectively.

Writing Compass is a portfolio and blog-based platform where I showcase my writing samples, blogs, articles and share practical guidance on academic writing. Through this space, I aim to help others improve their writing skills, build clarity in their work, and approach academic writing with confidence. 

Writing Compass began from my own experience of struggling with academic writing. While studying, I realised that understanding a subject was not the hardest part—expressing ideas clearly in a structured and well-written format was.Over time, I worked on improving my writing by learning how to structure essays, build arguments, and use proper referencing. As I improved, I started helping others who faced the same challenges, which inspired me to create this platform.

This site is focused on sharing simple, practical, and easy-to-follow guidance on writing. Here, I publish articles on topics such as essay writing, academic structure, referencing styles like Harvard and APA, and tips to improve clarity and critical thinking.The aim is to break down complex writing concepts into clear steps that anyone can follow.
